Backcountry skiing is physically demanding. The strong and fitter you are, the more enjoyable skiing becomes and the more capacity you have for all-important decision-making in the field. This backcountry ski fitness class is designed to build the strength, stability, and aerobic capacity you need to move confidently through long days in the mountains. We blend uphill-focused conditioning with targeted strength work for legs, core, and upper body control. Plus, you’ll develop the specificity needed to help you handle big vertical, variable snow, and steep descents. Whether you're preparing for day tours with friends or multiday hut trips, this program will build the engine and resilience required to travel efficiently, and safely, in backcountry terrain. The program will vary throughout the winter to build and then maintain strength and fitness for the backcountry.
